Today is my last full day with the Suzuki family at Ishigaki Island. Tomorrow I will fly off the island at 15:25. I was not out on the boat for the last 2 days, it was very nice to take the time to enjoy the land part of Ishigaki.
My last day on the boat was Monday, I had a customer come from Osaka to dive with me. She is a rather new diver and appreciates a guide directly by her side for the duration of the dive. We were diving at Ibaruma and Yonehara. The visibility was 20+ meters at shallow water, we saw many fish and the diver was very very happy with diving at Ishigaki.
Tuesday, yesterday, I spent time walking around the city shopping and I had a coffee in a very cute cafe. I bought some ‘Shisa’ statues for my family and also some Japanese sweets to take to my employer in Thailand. During my stay here I very much liked to see the ‘Shisa’ everywhere, so I will take the tradition back to my family. Wednesday, today, I went for a drive around this side of the island and also dropped in on some friends I met during my stay here. I will truly miss Ishigaki island, she has been warm to me and treated me like one of her people.
Some of my favorite things about Ishigaki Island:
I can watch for hours
3. Dragon Fruit
4. Making lunch boxes
5. Eating dinner with the Suzuki family
6. Watching the mountains meet the ocean
7. The Eagle sitting on the service pole at the way to port
8. Working with Yoskei
Overall I enjoyed a wonderful experience on Ishigaki Island at Umi no Melo. The colours are warm and welcoming, the people are filled with kindness, the ocean is ever beautiful, the land is carpeted green and my time here was too short. I will enjoy this Island again, see you all then. Maybe somebody would like to come diving with me in Thailand or if you would like to say hello to me, my email is jameietyler@hotmail.com. Nice to meet you, have a nice day!!
